 CARE & HANDLING

Proteas have heavy, woody stems and are prized for their lond vase life. Unpack immediately and trim 1/2" to 1" off stem to keep the water carrying vessels open. Proteas are very thristy, so maintain an adiquate supply of clean water or commercial flower perservative solution below the leaves. Leaf discoloration in some proteas is a natural phenomenon; the flower head is still alive for you to enjoy. Proteas may be dried by hanging them upside down in a dark area, or by allowing your arrangment to dry naturally.
